Mike began his Real Estate Career in 1994 as a Sales Representative with a small independently owned and operated Family Brokerage. In 1998, he then joined the Royal LePage Real Estate Services office in Brampton as it best exemplified the core values and culture of his previous Brokerage.
Mike built his Real Estate sales business on the foundation of Volunteerism in the Minor SportCommunity in Brampton. For his efforts as a Volunteer, Mike was awarded in 2005 the City of Brampton’s Long Term Service Award and in 2006 the Toronto Real Estate Board presented him with the Community Service Recognition Award.
In 2006, Mike graduated from the University of Guelph’s inaugural Master of Arts (M.A.) in Leadership program. Mike leaned heavily upon his professional background and his certification in assessing Emotional Intelligence (EQ-i) to research and write his thesis titled “PERFORMANCE PREDICTORS FOR REAL ESTATE AGENTS.”
Mike changed direction from Real Estate Sales and began his Management and Leadership career in January 2007 at the Royal LePage Real Estate Services office at Square One in Mississauga. Mike immediately began a recruitment and training campaign to grow both the population and production of the Realtor’s at the Branch. As a result of his successes, Mike was chosen in 2010 and 2011 to be a member of Royal LePage Canada Services Advisory Committee.
In 2012, Mike was instrumental in relocating the Branch to a new location and in the process retain his Realtor’s. In 2015, his Branch was sold to Royal LePage Signature Realty, Mike again was instrumental in relocating and retaining his Realtor’s who moved to their new location. Mike has held positions of Broker Manager, General Manager and currently is the Vice President overseeing the Mississauga operations with over 600 Realtor’s.
Mike was elected in 2023 as the President of the Mississauga Real Estate Board. In addition to having chaired Finance, Arbitration and Professional Standards Committees, Mike was also the Chair of Government Relations which has resulted in him forging tremendous relationships with local politicians. This culminated in him hosting a Fireside Chat in May 2023 with the six Mississauga M.P.P.’s where the discussion centered on the Trust in Real Estate Services Act (TRESA) and challenges in tackling Housing affordability, supply and demand issues.
