Sean Simpson is Vice President of Ipsos Public Affairs and has been with the company for over 12 years. Ipsos Public Affairs has 700 staff located in 34 countries, and is the world’s leading polling firm. Sean joined Ipsos following his studies at Wilfrid Laurier University, where he completed both Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Political Science, specializing in public opinion and electoral behaviour. He leads Ipsos’ public-opinion polling division in Canada, including its relationship with Corus and Global News. His research focuses on corporate reputation, communications, trends, government/public relations and issues management. Sean has conducted research for OREA for over a decade. He is an active media commentator and writer, and he frequently lectures and presents in both academic and business settings. He teaches crash courses in survey design and sampling at the Laurier Summer Institute for Research Methods in Kitchener-Waterloo, where he lives with his wife Amie Debrone.
